Fans say ‘Don’t worry about Tom Brady’

Former Bucs head coach and team consultant Bruce Arians shared his thoughts on Brady’s retirement and non-retirement announcements and his 11-day excused absence during training camp with Jori Epstein, USA TODAY Sports NFL writer.

Said Arians: “It’s about, when you’re 45 and you have a lot, a lot more going on in your life than a 25-year-old man. For Tom…he needed time. It was great for us because we worked with our reserve quarterbacks. He came back, still looking great. The energy in the building went up 100%. I think it was a very good decision for everyone.

Should fans be worried about Tom Brady’s focus or sanity ahead of the 2022 season?

According to the Arians, no. “The thing about Tom Brady – you never have to worry about focus. He’s all in or he wouldn’t be there. He’s all in and laser focused. You can ask the players in the group who get their ass chewed all the time next to him. They all know he’s laser focused and ready to roll. Don’t worry about Tom Brady, that’s for sure.

Brady’s former New England Patriots teammate Devin McCourty echoed Arians

comments on balancing life in the NFL and his life in the spotlight in an interview with USA TODAY Sports reporter Mackenzie Salmon.

“It’s tough,” McCourty said. “Sometimes you don’t think about it.” At 35, McCourty is married with two young children. “For all of us, it’s the big balance. It’s something we all talk about as husbands and fathers, how we take care of our homes and our homework, but also, how can we be the best player for our teammates, for our teams and for us individually?

McCourty then spoke about Brady’s work ethic.

“I know Tom is one of the greatest. I’ve seen his work ethic, what he puts into the game, how much it means to him to not only be able to play for himself, but to show up for his teammates. I’m sure whatever he does, there’s no doubt that he always finds a way to take care of what he needs to take care of football.”

Will Tom Brady retire in 2023?

In another Sports Seriously podcast, host the Mackenzie salmon asked Pro Football Hall of Famer Dan Marino to talk about Brady’s state of mind and the 2022 season.

“The thing is, if you still have that, if you’re a great player, in your heart, you never know if you want to retire or if you have to retire.

“If you still have that urge to play, you should take every opportunity to play because once you’re done, that’s it. It’s over. He’ll probably play this year and take another shot at it. eye when the year is over.”
