DANIA BEACH, Florida. – Be ready! The Temptations are coming to South Florida. And here is something else that is music to the ears. When you buy a ticket to the concert, you are supporting a local charity that is transforming the lives of young women through academics, financial resources and social responsibility.

“When we discovered that some of our daughters were lacking in math and reading skills, we had to turn and address it immediately by offering more tutoring and engagement programs and activities,” said Velma Lawrence, founder and CEO of Embrace Girls Foundation. “When our girls don’t have shoes, coats or personal hygiene items, we provide them. These shows are great for the community, but they also have a real impact on the work we do and the services we can provide. »

The Dennis Edwards’ Temptations Review will appear at the Dania Beach Casino on Father’s Day, June 19. It is part of the foundation’s “Intimate Evening With” benefit concert series. The show will include a dinner, as well as a meeting with the artists.

Last year’s “Intimate Evening With” concert series hosted Jeffrey Osborne, David and Tamela Mann and Gerald Alston and The Manhattans with singer/actress Regina Belle. All live shows were performed to sold-out crowds.

The concerts are sponsored by Interiors by Steven G., a luxury design firm serving clients around the world. The society’s president, Steven Gurowitz, is personally involved with the organization and has contributed to its mission to change the lives of vulnerable young people.

“It’s a mission that God wanted me to do,” Gurowitz said. “It didn’t happen by itself. Every time I see these kids, they run up to me, hug me and say, ‘Mr. G, we love you, it melts my heart.
