Doha: The Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) launched its first activities under the Ramadan Sports Festival program last Wednesday, which included eight different sporting events for fans of all members of the community.

The Ramadan Sports Festival opened with the first-ever Men’s Beach Volleyball Tournament at Aspire Sand Court in Aspire Park and Women’s Basketball and Women’s Volleyball at Ladies Sport Hall. AZF facilities at Aspire Park, The Dome and Ladies Sport Hall host the eight-team competitions.

Taking place April 6-17 from 9:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., events include a men’s beach volleyball competition from April 6-10 at the Aspire Sand court; Men’s football competition April 9-13 on the warm-up track; Men’s basketball competition April 12-17 at the Aspire Dome, Multipurpose Hall.

Other events are the men’s 4×4 football competition from April 13 to 17 at the Aspire public football grounds, the women’s competitions in cooperation with Sports Lab Academy; Basketball competition for women from April 6 to 14 at the ladies’ sports hall; Women’s volleyball competition April 6-12 at the Women’s Gym and Women’s soccer competition April 9-14 at the Women’s Gym.

The Special Needs Competition in cooperation with the Qatar Paralympic Committee includes a Special Needs Table Tennis competition on April 11 at Aspire Dome, Multipurpose Hall 1.
