PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) — It was a night to try your luck and hope to hit the jackpot in Bay County.
On Saturday night, the Bay County Alzheimer Alliance held its annual fundraiser to raise funds to then give back to the local community.
This is the 17th year that the event has taken place.
The organization does things to support the dementia and Alzheimer’s disease community and their carers.
The profits earned during the evening will be used throughout the year for activities.
“Each year we host a fundraiser, this is our 17th annual fundraising event for the Bay County Alzheimer Alliance. We have Monte Carlo Night, which is an event full of games, food and fun from many community members who come to volunteer their time and money to our organization,” said Misty Kangus, member of the bay board. said the Alzheimer County Alliance.
The event was hosted by Finn’s Island Style Grub for several years, who donated half of their proceeds earned at night to the Bay County Alzheimer Alliance.
“Basically I set my price and donate half of it to the cause. It’s just a special opportunity to do something to give back to the community and anyone affected by this issue in their lives or in their lives. their family’s lives,” said Justin Buxton, owner of Finn’s Island Style Grub.
Some dishes included okra, cheese grits and jambalaya.
One of the event’s volunteers included NewsChannel 7’s own Scott Rossman working on one of the card tables.
