She says she needs seven or eight hours “to function”. “Create a room that’s ideal for sleeping. Often this means cool, dark and quiet. Exposure to light can make it harder to fall asleep. Avoid prolonged use of glowing screens just before bedtime. Consider using room-darkening blinds, earplugs, a fan or other devices to create an environment suited to your needs,” explains the Mayo Clinic. “Doing soothing activities before bed, such as taking a bath or using relaxation techniques, may promote better sleep.”
