Ann D. Kroon, 91, a resident of Myrtle Beach, SC, since 2016 with her daughter and primary caregiver, Sally Kroon, died Monday, August 29, 2022, at home with family and friends by her side, supported by the caring staff at Crescent Hospice.
Born August 7, 1931 in Jamestown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Helen D. and the late Merle L. Davison. She attended Mayville Central Schools, graduating in 1949, and held a number of office positions throughout her career, retiring in 1996 from the Jamestown Police Department Records Division.
Ann married Robert A. Kroon on April 26, 1952 at the United Methodist Church in Mayville, NY. They celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2012, months before his death on December 22, 2012. They were longtime members of the Camp Street United Methodist Church in Jamestown.
]Ann was an avid reader who loved being near the ocean and the beach. She especially loved going for car rides in the fall. ” to the north “ to see the vivid colors of the changing leaves. She often shared fond memories of family camping at local campgrounds as well as vacation trips across the country.
]Ann is survived by one daughter, Sally A. Kroon of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sons: Robert A. (JoEl) Kroon Jr. of Ashville, N.Y. and Jeffrey C. (Kelly) Kroon of Jamestown, N.Y; two grandchildren: John C. (Emily) Kroon of Edmond, Okla., and Krista N. Kroon of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren: Banks Charles Kroon and Callum Ray Kroon of Edmond, Okla.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Ann was predeceased by a brother, Charles “Chuckie” Davison (1957); one daughter, Diane H. Kroon (1958); and a grandson, Bryan M. Kroon (2017).
No visits will be observed. A memorial service will be scheduled at the convenience of the family.
