4. Winter Port, Maine

Don’t let the name fool you, Winter Harbor is also great in the summer! Located on the water in this traditional Maine fishing village, MainStay Cottages & RV Park borders the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park. While Acadia is one of the most popular parks in the country, the southern tip of the peninsula is the least visited part of the park. The 10km drive along Schoodic Loop Road is sure to wow you with beautiful glimpses of Cadillac Mountain and Mount Desert Island. 5. Klamath, California

Roughly north of California, Klamath is located on the Klamath River, off the 101, just above Redwood National and State Parks. The Klamath River RV Park offers views of these ancient trees as well as plenty of hiking. There are several public beaches nearby for fishing, swimming and water sports.

The area offers tons of adventure and photo opportunities. 6. Maggie Valley, North Carolina

7. Medora, North Dakota

Cottonwood Campground is part of Theodore Roosevelt State Park in scenic Medora. The Badlands provide a wonderful backdrop for everything from hiking to golf. Play the Bully Pulpit Golf Course and bike the Maah Daah Hey Trail. Get tickets to the musical Medora and eat at Pitchfork Fondue.

8. Garden City, Utah

Perched at an elevation of 6,300 feet, Easley Campground is located on the Big Wood River, bordering the Sawtooth National Forest. In addition to water access and gorgeous views, the campground offers pools and hot tubs filled with mineral hot springs, fishing, and hiking.
