Three new hotels are set to open just in time for what is expected to be a very busy summer season in the North East. Located in New Hampshire, Cape Cod and the Catskills, some of the region’s most popular vacation destinations, the properties are all owned by Bluebird by Lark hotels, a subsidiary of Lark Hotels.

These are all refurbished and redesigned properties, which is in line with Bluebird’s stated game plan that “by breathing new life into existing RV properties, Bluebird accommodations are affordably priced, opening up a world of adventure to all travellers”.

They’ve done it before in Stowe, Vermont, at the Tälta Lodge, which I profiled in Forbes last winter. They have already opened Bluebird Parker Beach Lodge on Cape Cod and Bluebird Spa City Motor Lodge in Saratoga Springs, New York. Next up will be hotels in Lake Placid in late 2022 and East Boothbay Harbor, Maine in 2023. If there’s a common thread here, it’s that all Bluebird hotels have themed around classic American road trip properties, aimed at the hipsters. , active travelers.

Bluebird Dennisport, Cape Cod

Bluebird Dennisport is set to open June 3 in the town of Dennis Port, one of Cape Cod’s favorite destinations. There is easy access to beaches, half a mile away, with opportunities for boating and surfing on Nantucket Sound. The 59-room hotel is sleek but minimalist, which is a pretty good description of all Bluebird properties. Given its location, it’s no surprise that it has beach-inspired decor, with wood paneling adorning the walls, textures, and natural furnishings. There are queen and king double rooms, king suites, and two-bedroom cottages, some with a lanai, which includes a private outdoor patio and fire pit with a grill, outdoor shower, and indoor fireplace in the living room. Situated on five acres, the property features an indoor pool, an outdoor pool and community fire pits. The property is near the Cape Cod Center for the Arts, home to the historic Cape Playhouse, as well as the Cape Cod Museum of Art and the Cape Cinema.

Bluebird Sunapee, New Hampshire

Opening May 23, Bluebird Sunapee, is located in the Sunapee region of New Hampshire. Located near Mount Sunapee State Park on Lake Sunapee and next to Vail’s Mount Sunapee Ski Resort, the 53-room hotel is an excellent base camp for visitors looking to take advantage of the activities of the region all year round. Decor features forest green and white paneling, modern alpine furniture, and printed camp blankets and rugs. The property includes a shared lounge with a wood-burning stove and a swimming pool with a seasonal outdoor terrace. Storage for gear is available, including a locker room for bikes, skis, and snowboards that includes boot dryers, wall-mounted bike racks, and a bike repair station.

Search for Bluebird Hunter Lodge

The 45-room hotel will offer double queen and king rooms, as well as loft suites. The luxury chalet sleeps up to six people, offering two bedrooms, private balconies, full kitchen and living space with mountain views. The cottage sleeps up to eight people, with two king beds, two queen beds, private balconies, living room and adjoining kitchen.
